As like most U.S. law enforcement agencies, the Winter Park Police Department is organized in a paramilitary fashion. With this being said, what exactly is a paramilitary organization? A paramilitary organization is a group of civilians trained and organized in a military fashion. This type of structure affords a distinct chain of command and a strict set of rules and procedures set forth to accomplish goals and tasks required by the job at hand.
